Sketching at Bressay Lighthouse
~ LINES MADE BY WALKING ~ A Drawing and Walking Workshop, June 2018 ~
/ Sketching at Bressay Lighthouse /
Walking the area near the lighthouse, I made quick drawings of hills, cliffs, rocks, and features in the landscape. The folded concertina sketchbook meant I could work very freely, going on to the next page to draw panoramic aspects if I needed to. I could also sketch small details or features I came across. A series of smaller studies became like a succession of snapshots. In ‘Lines Made By Walking’ we’ll also be using folded concertina sketchbooks, and I hope this will help us be bold and fluid with our drawings.
