'Work in Progress' - exhibiting now!
‘Work in Progress’ - a mini-exhibition now open in Mareel’s upper foyer feature space
This display brings together recent studies, experiments and development drawings. From life, art, photographs, words, and the imagination, these drawings have enabled engagement with a whole range of sources that inspire me. The daily practice of drawing gives space to be instinctive and enriches my looking, thinking and my learning.
The process of choosing work for this display was also a really lovely chance to revisit drawings made to think and explore, without any expectation of them ever being seen.
Over the last couple of years I feel very thankful to have had opportunities to push my drawing practice further, including an amazing time with the Royal Drawing School’s Online Drawing Development Year programme, supported by Creative Scotland, which gave so much insight into different approaches and techniques. This year’s VACMA project was another way to build on this learning.
Thank you very much to Shetland Arts for this opportunity to show some of the behind-the-scenes drawings!
On display until further notice.
