STORM DAMAGE

Drawings of collapsed radome structures, 2020

In these drawings I explored directions which were more abstract, in-particular tonal kaleidoscopic effects. Here light and darks contrast and react to give disorientation, and pictorial depth is in conflict with the drawn surface - space seems to be dissolving away. This shifting uncertainty leads the viewer to question the virtual space that images construct, reflecting the ideological ruination of our times where we can no longer always believe the world-view ordered sequential time that images suggest.

These drawings were exhibited in ‘Figurative Art Now’, an online exhibition from Mall Galleries / Federation of British Artists. View here (on Page 9).
