‘Lookout’ Junior Art Exhibition
Now showing at Speldiburn Cafe, Bressay!
Come along to see a display of work from the young artists who took part in the 'Lookout' Drawing sessions earlier this year.
In response to memories and stories all about lighthouses, gathered from people on the island, participants experimented with drawing, painting and collage. It was a joy to see their lovely colourful and imaginative work take shape over the sessions, which were held both in Bressay and Lerwick.
To the children who took part - keep a look out for a special thank you making its way to you in the post!
Speldiburn Cafe is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am - 3pm.
A display of photographs and history gathered during the project is also currently on show at Bressay Heritage Centre, open 10am - 4pm, Wed, Fri and Sat until September.
Thank you to all those who participated, and to Bressay History Group.
Part of ‘Gathering Strings’, an intergenerational project in association with Shetland Arts and Culture Collective, and supported by Creative Scotland.
