New drawings
A recent group of drawings on their way to the lovely shop at Shetland Museum and Archives!
I started making landscapes in this form whilst working on ideas for the 'Love in Human Herts' cover, a collection of Vagaland poems published last year. They are imagined, informed by Shetland's dramatic and ancient-feeling landscape, which can feel like a dreamscape.
They also explore different subtle kinds of grey - Shetland is often very grey! But there's always something interesting in the light here, even on the cloudiest of days.
Each is an original work in watercolour and charcoal, mounted to fit a 4 x 6 frame.
