Autumn Colour - Week 2

Another colourful and creative morning of drawing!

For this week's Big Draw session, we continued exploring the changing season through colour. Those who joined us last week finished activities including spooky inky trees and magical aurora watercolours.

We also tried new activities. Pastel on black paper was a great way to create the effect of movement and glowing colour - perfect for fireworks! Some participants painted stormy sea watercolours with lots of wash technique and different ways of using the brush. A few went on to also use these techniques to paint textures ready for collages next week. Some also used thick poster paint and ‘decalcomania’ to create autumn textures, also for collages.

Next week, we’ll finish our collages, and also try new Halloween-themed activities!

Thank you to all the young artists who came along!

We are here again next Saturday at Speldiburn Cafe , 11.15 to 12.45 - straight after Parkrun.

Please book by visiting Workshops in the menu above. £2.50 per child.
