Shoormal Conference

When & Where: Wednesday 18th to Saturday 21st September 2019 | Mareel, Lerwick

A very exciting four day event will be happening at Mareel, Lerwick this September. The Shoormal Conference will bring together creative practitioners, researchers, professionals and arts organisations to explore, debate and celebrate creative practice, with a focus on new coasts and shorelines. I'm delighted to be sharing some recent research and artwork as part of this varied programme of talks, workshops and performances. My talk and workshop will look at Plastiglomerate, a proposed new kind of stone of the Anthropocene, and a material that I’ve recently been drawing and collecting on many of Shetland’s beaches.
